EAN mini-module on Social Media for Public Health professionals
August 31, 2019 - September 1, 2019
Background
Social media has become a primary communication tool globally and within communities. It can be both a source of information, for example for infectious diseases surveillance, or a tool for Public Health authorities to communicate quickly with the public, e.g. to relay public health messages during unusual events/outbreaks. Currently there are different social media platforms however their singularities and functionalities are not always well known to epidemiologists and public health microbiologists.
To the request of some of its members during the General Assembly in 2018, the EPIET Alumni Network (EAN) is organising a two-day workshop on "Social media for Public Health professionals".
